Our recent Supply Chain Conference provided an ideal platform for us to share with our trusted supply chain partners our company updates and project pipeline, take them through our overall business strategy and introduce key personnel.
Now in its 12th year, the key message from Managing Director Gavin Hamblett at this year’s event was ‘Leading the Standard’; in terms of collaborative working, quality workmanship and innovative thinking. The conference was a celebration of what we have already achieved by working with key supply chain partners that share our ethos - and a look at how we can all continue to grow our businesses, by working together to achieve a common goal.
This year we were delighted to welcome Mark Farmer as our guest speaker, author of the 2016 Government paper on the construction industry entitled ‘Modernise or die’ – which has received national acclaim and recognition. We spoke to Mark to get his take on the role specialist contractors and their supply chain partners have to play, in instigating the changes the industry crucially requires.
He said: “The tier one main contractors and tier two specialists [are] the engine room of our entire industry. So if they’re not involved and engaged in modernisation then our industry isn’t going to change.”
We would like to thank all those at Prater who helped ensure this was another successful Supply Chain Conference, and all our trusted supply chain partners that attended the event. We look forward to 2019!
