Prater’s second Supply Chain Conference was held at their new, purpose built offices in Salfords, Surrey.
Together Prater’s Directors and Supply Chain partners presented and exchanged ideas around the theme of TEAM: Together Everyone achieves more; this was felt to be particularly relevant in today’s economic climate.
Andy Newman Business Development Director adds: “Working together is a key theme of our strategic plan for this year. We’re looking at the current economic downturn as an opportunity to build relationships, improve partnerships and generally strengthening the foundations of our business in relation to that of our suppliers and our customers. We pride ourselves on taking a pragmatic approach to challenges we face and our annual Conference helps’ keep our ear to the ground’ and ensures that we stay in step with other players in the industry”.
The Conference included presentations on topics such as ‘2008 and beyond’, ‘an Environmental perspective and’ Supplier Relationship management,’ all linked to the theme of the conference. This was continued with three informative presentations from three of Prater’s key supply partners: SFS who gave ‘fly on the wall’ feedback on Prater’s supply chain performance; Interpane gave useful insight into their relationship with Prater, finally Eurobond looked at the ongoing case for sustainability initiatives.
The Conference theme was continued during lunch with an excellent and humorous speech by special guest, former Chelsea FC legend Ron ‘Chopper’ Harris who amused everyone with anecdotes from his illustrious football career.
Feedback showed that guests found the day informative and useful and are keen to attend the third Conference in 2009.
