External auditors have certified that Prater continues to surpass the rigorous standards set for ISO 9001:2008, OHSAS 18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2004 accreditations.
Two particular areas of strength highlighted in the report were ‘health and safety’ and the ‘tender process’, with Prater achieving over 20 health and safety awards as of the end of July 2009.
Martin Harper, Technical and Quality Manager at Prater who headed up the audit said: “Health and safety is a key focus for Prater and we are continuously monitoring and improving our processes to ensure we achieve the highest standard of safety in all projects we are involved in.”
Recent awards include:
- Environmental Awards - Contractor of the month at Walsall Hospital for Skanska (Awarded to Prater twice in 2008)
- Health and Safety Award - T5C for Carillion at London Heathrow
- Health and Safety Award - Warminster project for Aspire Defence
- Health and Safety Award - Kent BSF for Kier- Safe working practices spot prize - Kingsmill Hospital for Skanska
