Prater delivered the external façade package at the new 11-storey data facility - Telehouse TN2 building in East London. The project adds to our vast portfolio of work within the capital and represented an interesting challenge for the Prater team – who were faced with delivering an extensive project with a number of bespoke elements.
The circa £9 million project included installation of over 15,000m2 of façade cladding, with bespoke components including the cladding panels, rainscreen, louvres, windows and doors as well as single ply and hot melt roofing. Due to the prominent health and safety aspects of the installation being carried out from hanging cradles at heights of up to 60 meters - plus the intricate design of the building, our experience as a specialist contractor proved crucial.
The Prater team were appointed as the sheer scope of bespoke works coupled with the complex requirements of the building meant that the project would benefit from a collaborative working relationship. In addition, with limited space on a busy construction site, an effective operation and logistics strategy is also proving important to ensure that components being constructed off site are being delivered according to a tight schedule.
The new building will stand adjacent to the existing North, East and West data centres and will offer an additional 73,400sqm of space.
