Scope of works
- Hot Melt Roofing
With a longstanding working relationship on a number of high profile projects, Mace appointed Prater to deliver the full external envelope to Highpoint, the largest private build to rent development of its kind to date, in Elephant & Castle.
Appointed in January 2016, our scope of works involved the complete external envelope package for the £3 billion regeneration project. Prior to construction getting underway, the team created a 3D model which allowed any potential issues to be anticipated. This helped to minimise construction defects and streamlined the process, helping to reduce time, waste and operational costs over the course of the build.
The extensive external envelope package included a green roof, 4500m2 of rainscreen cladding and 600m2 of capped curtain walling to the ground floor and duplex level as well as window insulation, sliding doors, timber decking and ground floor waterproofing. Prater has also provided extensive waterproofing and cladding to the higher levels of the tower, including hot melt roofing works.
Paul Webb, Project Director at Prater concluded: “Throughout this project we have worked hard to ensure the continued quality of every aspect of the build. Each product, prior to installation, has been quality assessed by a member of the client team. This resulted in Prater achieving the highest quality score that we have ever achieved as a company from Mace.”
