Overview Expand

The International Quarter in London will be an inspiring business environment – and is scheduled for completion in 2025. The development will also include 330 new homes, a hotel, shops and cafes as well as childcare and community facilities. With a value in excess of £2 billion, the project will create over 25,000 new jobs, and thousands of construction jobs throughout its delivery programme.

Lindner Prater completed an extensive scope of works on buildings S7 and S8, commonly known as the Glasshouse Gardens, at the International Quarter. The buildings will comprise comprising of studios and one, two and three bedroom homes. Lendlease appointed Lindner Prater to help deliver the complete building envelope, whilst achieving a BREEAM Excellent rating.

The early PCSA with Lendlease allowed detailed consideration of buildability, health and safety on-site and the overall construction programme. This process allowed Lindner Prater to identify an opportunity to carry out the cladding works quickly and efficiently through the novel innovative process of using moving screens as working platforms. With no need for fixed scaffolding, this helped to maintain and improve project timescales, as well as enhance accessibility on-site.

Finally, the project has benefitted from a high level of community engagement and investment. Lindner Prater and Lendlease have worked closely with Newham Borough Council and charitable trusts such as Be Onsite to offer residents the chance of a career in construction, through thousands of new job roles and access to the education and training programmes required.
