Job Description

  • Create, develop and manage high level relationships with key individuals in existing and new clients.
  • Confidently and professionally present the business to our clients and the market.
  • Entertain clients in social environments.
  • Identify and track projects fitting the business strategy and capabilities, to create tendering opportunities.
  • Attend the estimating resource meetings to provide input into which projects we commit to tendering and assist in allocating suitable estimating resource accordingly.
  • Define the bid strategy in consultation with other account holders and bid team, engaging the supply chain as required. 
  • Plan operational, design, commercial and planning engagement to suit the bid strategy for each project.
  • Review the developing risk register to ensure that the team are reacting to the defined issues in a timely manner so as to ensure that the clients’ requirements are being met.
  • Maintain dialogue with the client and plan and lead any mid bid/operational review meetings deemed necessary in conjunction with the bid team.
  • Attend the final review meeting ensuring in advance that the bid team have produced the bid in line with the defined strategy and to meet the clients requirements.
  • Lead client facing meetings following bid submission and manage the negotiation process.
  • Attend project pre-start meetings and ensure that the project is launched into the business effectively.
  • Developing his/her own relationship with suppliers/manufacturers in order to increase product awareness and to command key supplier relationships.
  • Help define the businesses marketing strategy.
  • Identify evaluate and introduce new technology’s, materials and working methods to the business front end process.
  • Keeping up with our competitions market strategy and our clients aspirations.
  • Carry out other duties as may be instructed/directed by the Business Development Director.
  • Carrying out duties normally undertaken by BDD in his absence, i.e. during holidays.
